Course 14259 - 4C-ing a Better Learning Experience: Technology and Tools to
Transform Your Teaching in Cullowhee What can't technology do these days? Unfortunately,

Technology can engage our learners and open opportunities for communication,
collaboration and creativity in exciting ways. Come participate in interactive,
personalized sessions that will put you back in control, regulate the deluge of
incoming notifications, and spark new ideas to inspire student learning
opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Our time together will

takeaway you can implement right away. NCCAT will cover, housing, meals, and
programming costs. Participants are responsible for travel costs and substitute

Text Message Template. Let
students practice written interpersonal communication (Standard 1) with this
text message template. Students pass paper back and forth. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/09/21/27/092127b2ac76ef29796bede9970e133e.jpg or this one https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/42/48/a3/4248a31c6c66ef1f98381e8fab79984e.jpg

Predict the Future Template – Use this ‘cootie catcher’ template (Did you use these as a
child?) to create an activity where students interact with each other orally.
Student 1 asks Student 2 which outer flap s/he chooses when the cootie catcher
is closed (Flaps are named after food, colors, places, famous people, numbers,
etc.) Student 1 then spells out the choice of Student 2 opening and closing the
cootie catcher one time per letter. Student 1 then opens the cookie catcher and
asks Student 2 which word s/he wants from the four choices visible inside (from
choices of food colors, numbers, places, etc.? Student 1 then opens and closes
the cootie catcher one time per letter as the word is spelled out. Student 1
then asks Student 2 which of the four interior choices s/he wants. Student 1
then reads Student 2 his/her fortune about what will happen in the future.
Teacher chooses categories for exterior flaps and interior triangles. Students
write words per category and the fortunes (using the future or simple future
tense). https://cdn.printablepaper.net/samples/Cootie_Catcher_Template.png

Disney's Frozen - "Let It Go" Multi-Language Full Sequence includes 25 languages interspersed
line by line throughout the song. This would make a great activity of advocacy
for the linguistic diversity of our planet. This was shared at the summer World
View Teacher-Leader Institute. They asked participants to list the
languages, name languages that weren’t included, reflect on why these 25
languages were chosen and why others were not chosen. Fun, entertaining
resource with the power for some reflective thinking. Note that there is Latin
American and Castilian Spanish. Ask your students why there are two versions? There is Mandarin and Cantonese. Do your students
know why? Thanks to Social Studies ICF,
Jeff Schneider, for sharing this resource. YouTube 3:56 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC83NA5tAGE
