InterCom has a weekly
customizable email digest for language teachers, which is a free service from
the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) at the University of
Oregon. In each week's issue they re-disseminate tagged content from listservs,
blogs, the media, and other resources; subscribers receive only content that
matches their subscription preferences. Their goal is to keep busy teachers in
touch with the latest thinking in our field with a minimum time investment on
their part. Each week they include their own original content: a feature
article (Topic of the Week) dealing with a monthly theme (September's theme is
literacy and cross-curricular connections; October's will be assessment as a
tool for learning), an activity that exemplifies or applies the content of the
feature article, and a spotlight on something that at CASLS. The articles are
intended to be short and easy for busy teachers to read and digest quickly. Please
take a moment to subscribe to InterCom at http://caslsintercom.uoregon.edu . The
September 12 edition can be found at http://caslsintercom.uoregon.edu/subscriber
